Web Design and your Company

By Kelly Montagna

Web design is a rather tall order these days. In the 90's, web design was easy, and quite a few people were experts. The design process was simplistic, and it did not take long to build a quality website. Quality was a bit debatable, but it did work.

There are more things to think about today however, especially with websites for tradies. For example, will you be relying on graphics? Will you use CSS? PHP? Will you be creating a login interface? In addition to considering these things, you must ask some obvious questions.

Where Will you Host? -- Before you can work on your web design, it would be a good idea to have a host in mind. There are several hosts available, naturally, and you should do your best to ensure the host supports the format you want to use. You will find that most plugins are quite supported, but you could have to pay extra.

Flow -- In web design, many people create websites that simply do not flow. Having others test out your website is essential! What works well for you might be difficult for others to use. That is just something to think about.

Lightweight -- The weight of the website is often ignored by develoeprs. Computers have become more powerful, and the internet has more speed, but your goal should be to make your website as soon as possible. The larger your website is, the longer it will take to load, and many people will simply move on to your competitor if they find that your website takes too long to appear. It might sound a bit harsh, but we are living in a world where timing is everything.

While you could try to work on your own web design, it would likely be in your best interest to seek out a web design company that will take care of the heavy lifting for you. Though you might be able to create a website, your perspective will be a bit blurred. The things that you might find to be acceptable may be anything but acceptable on the internet. Along with that, where would you find the time to build a website when you are running a comapny. You probably won't. That stated, there are a plethora of web design companies that will help you in every aspect. There are plenty of technical considerations that you do not want to touch.

Will it cost a lot? You could spend quite a bit, yes, but it will be worth it. Find a company that can give you the website you need today.
