I Was Delighted With The Electronic Medical Records Software I Came Across

By Madison P. O'kon

When we expanded our medical practice, it became my job to make certain that our medical records were not only safe, but we also decided that it would be a good idea to find a better way to store them with some new electronic medical records software. The main thing that we were aiming for was to be able to store these records in such a way that any of us who had the right clearance could look at them wherever we were, especially on our tablet computers which we all decided were a powerful tool.

Because my partners were engaged in other tasks like hiring new employees and getting the new office set up, I was essentially left on my own to find which software would best meet our needs. I started by going online and comparing the various features of the software that I knew was available from my own experiences and after quizzing my colleagues in the medical field.

I found some helpful information online, but I kept feeling like I was missing some bits of the picture, so I stepped back and did a wider search for electronic medical records software. To my surprise, I found that there were indeed a few pieces of software that I was not aware of and happily added them to my list for additional comparison, feeling much better about the process and my own capabilities.

It turns out that it was one of these new programs I had happened to find that I ended up liking the most, so I wrote up a quick presentation and took it to my partners for them to glance over. Once my partners had gone over my presentation and understood the details about this specific piece of software, they were all in complete agreement that this was the right move for our company.

We implemented this software straight away as part of our general medical practice management software and soon we were using it with all of our patients, and we all agreed that it much more efficient and user-friendly than our old system. A few weeks later, we were discussing the new software and we were all in total agreement that this new software made life so much easier and allowed us to serve our patients better, which of course was our ultimate goal. The other thing that we all fervently agreed upon was the fact that it was so nice to be able to look at patient records from anywhere, and we couldn't even remember how we had survived without it!
