Lucios Just Another Halloween game?

By Tenna Kortly

Playing horror games was a thing i enjoyed, and usually I avoided this type of games, but in Lucius case I had to give it a shoot although the thought of killing people while playing an innocent 6 year old kid didn't really land on my positive side.

So as, your read this review of the Lucius game, consider that I am not the usual fan of the genre, and I just wrote this for your sake, with that being said if you are in the Halloween atmosphere or a fan of horror games and puzzle type games, and you do not mind using a little kid to slaughter entire families, then yes, this can be something for you.

After you know a bit who I am let's get going with this review as you are born(Luciuos) a pact is being made with the devil and an evil shadow step into your buddy, we then jump off the cinematic into the Denta's mention when Lucius is now at the age of 6 and in this wonderful birthday, your real father comes to visit you, the devil(drums please), he subsequently starts giving you missions to kill people in the mention.

The nany is always the first to go, you start your nice little demonic killing with locking up your nanny in the freezer.

Just like any good puzzle type game you need to get the right items and set them in place for your target to die, while maintain the good boy act, however, as the game continues you will get powers to help you out.

The powers that you will get, will be granted to you by the devil obviously, and will grow stronger with every murder you perform, in the beginning you will get things like telekinesis powers with just the basic ability to shove things off tables, but as the games go on, and you get more powers you will soon find yourself shooting fireballs of your hands.

Let's talk about the graphics, the graphics of the game are truly high level I do not mean call of duty or anything like that; nonetheless, it is still impressive, and as I believe it is as it should be the mansion is full of details and little things you can interact with like glasses, cups, cabinets, keys, locks and crucifixes that you need to be turned upside down if you do not want to lose your demon powers.

In my mind in order for a horror game to work is must give you that feeling of being on your toes all the time, Lucius does manage to make that work most of the time, but I did feel like the cut-sceens where a bit too much at times.

The highly level of details also come be and hurts the game in terms of long loading times as you move around the mansion, which can really annoy at times.

A disappointing fact about playing Lucius is that the murders or otherwise said the puzzles have only one way of being solved, and you can only move from a to b, in other words. They invested a lot in the game details, but when it came down to give us options of killing our marks, they left us with one possible way.

The game has a tendency to annoy me because the lack of in game clues and the fact that I can only perform my murder in one way.

Last words about the game, developed by Shiver Games, which overall did a nice job, and although I didn't enjoy this game so much, a fan of horror games will probably enjoy plotting all those murders.
