When we were prepared to expand our medical practice, I was given the task of finding a way to ensure our medical records were safe, and we also decided it would be wise to find a better way to store our medical records with some new electronic medical records software. The main thing that we were aiming for was to be able to store these records in such a way that any of us who had the right clearance could look at them wherever we were, especially on our tablet computers which we all decided were a powerful tool.
My partners were handling the other matters such as hiring some new employees and supervising the remodeling, so I was pretty much left on my own to decide which software would be great for us. I started by getting online and comparing the various features of the software that I knew was available from my own experiences and after questioning my colleagues in the medical field.
While I did find some pretty useful information online, I kept feeling like I was skipping a step, so I determined to start over and do a broader search for electronic medical records software. I was pleased that I did, since I found that there actually were some pieces of software that I had been unaware of, and I did some research on them as well, feeling much better about the whole situation.
As it turned out, it was one of these new programs that turned out to be the ideal fit for my medical practice and I took it to my partners to offer as a solution to our software problems. My partners took some time to read over my presentation on the software, and once they all had a firm grasp of this piece of software, everyone was in agreement that this would be a positive move for our company.
We began using this software as part of our general medical practice management software and before too long, we were using it with all of our patients, and it was a process that was much more efficient and easy to use than what we had been using before. Some weeks later, we all conferred and agreed that the new software made life much easier and we found that we were serving our patients better than we ever had before, which made us all very happy. The other thing that we all fervently agreed upon was the fact that it was so great to be able to look at patient records from anywhere, and we couldn't even remember how we had survived without it!
