Resident evil 6 is the new title from CAPCOM. The resident evil series was designed and made as a horror game but lately capcom decided to go for a more action like game. Was the result good or bad let's find out?
Doing This dengrous move and have no doubt this is a very dengrous move Capcom might lose both the hardcore fans of the series and the new gamers.
The fast pace players who love shooters and enjoy games like call of duty 3 will not move so quickly to a game such as resident evil, even if they claim to change style. On the other side, you got the hardcore horror gamers which love the spoke environment and the clunky controls and now are forced to play in a fast-paced environment something they do not expect to get out of this game.
The game itself although fun to try got is share of problems, Capcom went a little over board with the actions the player needs to take in every single short scene inside the game.
There are also to many movie scenes inside the game ruining the game feeling and instead giving you a theater feel as you spend most your time watching instead of actually playing.
When doing this kind of shifting in the game you need to be aware that the way the game function and what the player except their character to do changes and Capcom didn't stand up to the expectations to this one.
Can you enjoy the game? I wouldn't say enjoy but if you really want to see where the story is going, then spending a few hours finishing this game shouldn't be too much of a task.
On the other hand, Leon's campaign is the one that will usually please most of the resident evil series fan as its the closest to the old style of the game.
The game does have some good points as like resident evil 4 and resident evil 5, the infected killing is still fun as hell, and you also got a few new moves like stabbing infected heads and crushing theme on the side of a truck or a buss both are equally fun and joyful for the gamers who like to get all close and personal.
Another great plus for the game is the return of the "Mercenary's mode."
Living the same animation mechanics are a bad move from Capcom when it was appropriate for you to fall and take more then a few seconds to get up in a horror type game it has no place in a first-person shooter gamer.
Low scores on gamespot and many major gaming websites doesn't predict resident evil a bright future.
Many old fan series say that the game is now ruined as they loved the way it was and there was no reason changing it, the new gamers aren't really happy spending the money for what they consider an half broken game. The thing that will be the most interesting is to see what will be Capcom next move will be another third person shooter try or will it be back to the origins I guess we will find out on resident evil 7.
