An American science fiction franchise that has been in existence since 1978 started as an original television series called Battlestar Galactica, which was developed by Glen A. Larson and was followed by a sequel TV series in 1980. In 2003 it was resurrected and remade into several mini-series that have been developed throughout the years up to the present.
Along with the television productions, Battlestar Galactica has growninto the various entertainment industry forms such as book adaptations, novels, comic books, board games as well as the ever-popular video games. The various forms of entertainment productions all evolve around the premise that located in a distant part of our galaxy, a human civilization lives on a group of planets referred to as the Twelve Colonies. These individuals migrated from the ancestral world of Kobol, and for decades these Twelve Colonies have been at war with a cybernetic race of beings known as the Cylons, who have been trying to exterminate the human race.
The Twelve Colonies undergo a massive attack from the Cylons who are assisted by a human named Baltar. The twelve colonies are devastated by this attack along with the Colonial Fleet of star ships that serve as their protection resulting in virtually their entire population being destroyed. A few scattered available spaceships act as escape vessels for the remaining survivors to flee into outer space. The entire Colonial battle fleet was destroyed with the only exception that remained being the Battlestar Galactica which was a gigantic battleship and spacecraft carrier similar to what we know as aircraft carriers.
Under the leadership of Commander Adama, the massive spacecraft carrier along with the pilots who acted as Viper fighters lead the fugitive fleet of survivors as a search party attempting to locate the fabled thirteenth colony, which is known as Earth to become the unraveling story . The adventures of the Battlestar Galactica provide challenging scenarios for game playing participants who can assume the roles of various characters involved in the plots, either on the Human or Cylon side.
Players can easily become engaged in the exciting universe, interacting with their favorite characters, completing challenging missions, commandeering fighter ships and taking part in action packed tactical space combat.
