The method of updating invoices shows you have sent the invoice to the purchaser and also uploads the invoice info onto the customer?s account in Sage Line 50. You may then see all the info of the invoice in the customer?s activity page and also on the customers statement.
To update an invoice you will need to log into Sage Line 50 with your corporations data. You then have to create a bill for the client this may be created from a sales order or just a new invoice. Once you've input in all of the invoice information and it's complete. You then send the invoice to the client. After you've done this you need to update the invoice.
Push the icon of the Notepad with an arrow labelled Update. Sage Line 50 then updates the invoice onto the relevant section and shows you the update with a pop up. You may then close the pop up.
You can update more than one invoice at a time by clicking each invoice which will high light it. Once all of the invoices are selected click update and Sage Line 50 will update all the invoices onto the right customers information.
Once the invoice is updated you'll see under the Posted section it'll say Yes. You aren't able to change any numeric fields on a bill which has been updated however you are able to change the wording on the invoice like the outline box.
It is important to have updated all invoices so you have an Invoice number to match payment against when you reconcile the bank as Sage Line 50 will not put the invoice onto the customers bank section until it has been updated. Also when sending statement you are going to need to have all of the invoices sent to customers updated to make certain you are sending the customer the right information of all of the invoices currently processed.
