The Way to Purchase The Best Laptops

By Aubrey Cristofaro

1. Price. Compared to their counterparts, laptop computers are deemed to be more expensive than desktops so you must have a price range when buying one.

2. Size Because laptops have different sizes, you should buy one that best suits your needs. Of course, a smaller laptop would mean lighter weight so if you want portability, then opt for a 10-inch laptop but if you have a fixed place to work or do your thing with your laptop, then there's no problem choosing the 15-19 inch laptops.

3. Brand The proven laptop brands include DELL, HP, LENOVO and ASUS which does not have much computer breakdowns. However, there are other brands that are also dependable but still under review.

After discussing the aesthetic parts and company guarantee of laptops, here are other important things that you should know to help you decide what to buy:

1.Central Processor Unit (CPU): You should remember that CPU controls the speed of your laptop so if you want to more complex things on your computer like images, videos and audio, then you should opt for a faster CPU. But if you just need your laptop for reports and data files, then a slower CPU should be ok.

2.Memory Cards: If you want to open many programs at once and want them to run fast, then you should opt for a higher memory. Most laptops today have 2GB of memory but if you feel like you need more, then all you have to do is upgrade your memory.

3.Hard Drive: Most laptops today has a built-in hard drive which ranges from 80GB to 160GB but if you require much downloading and saving of files, you can find a good 400GB hard drives out there.

4.Operating System (OS): Operating System is the base software that runs on your laptop. There are many OS out there but the most used are Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X which only runs on Apple computers, and Linux.

5.Wireless network card: This refers to a card which will allow you to detect and connect to an internet wireless connection.

6.Optical Disk Drive: If you want to watch dvd movies or have files saved on cds then you shoulld buy a laptop which has an optical disk drive and shun away from netbooks and notebooks though you can still buy an external optical disk drive.

There are still more features of a laptop that I haven't discussed here but this list is a tutorial of the basic features that you should look for in a laptop. By reading the Best Rated Laptops Guide above, you should now know about the kind of laptop that you would want to purchase.
