Steps Considered In Establishing Effective Business Strategy

By Rodney Mejia

Business strategy may be described as the means and ways developed by a company in order to enable them maximizes their profits and to realize growth. It should act as a plan which directs the operation of the business in the long run. The strategies are reviewed after sometimes especially after realizing the objectives why they were created.

It is important to take note of the following things before considering the making of the strategy. The first thing entails being in a position to know the fundamental problem affecting the company which needs to be addressed. The other thing is being able to anticipate the desired future on the business. The importance of taking notice of these things is because of the role the strategy is meant to play, that is to correct the problem and to enable the growth of the company to the desired future.

The identification and the understanding of the fundamental may prove to be challenging if you do not know how to go about it. If you are not able to effectively identify the fundamental problem, then there is likelihood that the strategy developed will not be effective. Answering the question why is the way to go about the identification.

The why question should be asked until appoint where there is no further answer to the question as to why. For instance, the problem at the face of the company may be recording weak sales. The problem on the real sense may even be with the differentiation and value of the products.

After the identification of the problem, the second tip is in regard to establishing an action which is solution oriented. This is done by way of coming up with the general solution then further developing specific solution to help in solving the identified problem. For instance, if it is identified that the fundamental problem is in lack of sufficient distinction and value in the market, then the firs general solution should be on the way to differentiate it from other products and also to derive some value.

The general solution may be to add value to the products and also to make them look different from the other products in the market. After establishing the general solution, you should go ahead and make other specific solutions to address the other problems which enabled you to identify the fundamental problems.

In order to demonstrate the formulation of general solution and specific solutions, we will consider the fundamental problem of lack of distinction from other products as well as lack of value for their products. The major solution should seek to adding value to the products and creating the distinction while the specific solutions should include the rebranding of the products to give them a different look, conducting a research to find out what the market wants, as well as adding some value to the products.

All the actions established both general and specific must seek to achieve the same problem and should not be contradictory to the general objectives of the company. When these advises are followed to the latter, the company will be able to come up with a good business strategy which is able to make them grow and realize maximum profit.
