Below you will find some basic Star Wars: The Old Republic strategies.

Republic Character Classes

Trooper: The basic soldier class of the game, Troopers use heavy firepower and specialized squads to overpower enemies. Use the Trooper's heavy armor and powerful weapons to your advantage in overpowering your opponents.

Jedi Consular: Complementing the Jedi Knight is the Jedi Consular. More than anything else, Knights specialize in lightsaber combat, whereas Consulars are better with Force-based techniques. The Consulars out-think their enemies through their knowledge, gained through the use of wisdom and meditation, making them the wise sages of the Republic.

Smuggler: The Smuggler is considered the scout class of the game, with their mastery of stealth and surveillance. If you chose this class, you are best off sticking to the shadows instead of engaging in open combat. The strength of the Smuggler is in indirect combat.

Jedi Knight: The Jedi Knights are like one man armies with the Force as their allies. The are masters of close combat with a light saber and offensive force abilities. Overwhelm enemies in larger groups through the use of their advanced Force powers and quick agility.

Sith Empire Character Classes

Bounty Hunter: This class specializes in high-tech weaponry and specialized gadgets. This makes them a powerful choice in combat against Jedi perhaps more than any other class besides the Sith Warrior. Their sometimes bizarre tactics will be useful for unexpected attack plans.

Sith Inquisitor: This class specializes in dark-side powers, complementing the Jedi Consular, which is similar but with light-side powers. The Sith Inquisitor is less aggressive and more withdrawn than Sith Warriors, however. Keep your distance from this class, particularly their deadly efficient use of Force Lightning.

Imperial Agent: Stealth is your friend. The dark counterpart to the Smuggler, Agents are shadowy fiends that assassinate their enemies with quick, powerful attacks.

Sith Warrior: Using the dark side and its techniques to win, the Sith Warrior is brutally efficient in hand-to-hand combat with a lightsaber, making them a complement to the Jedi Knights, but on the dark side.

With these class specializations, try to keep in mind what your class was designed for and use it to develop successful strategies in this huge online world.
